Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash has spoken about his forthcoming memoir.
Titled, uh, 'Slash', the book outlines his heady times as a walking rock'n'roll clich??, as well as his sober, post-Gunners escapades with Velvet Revolver. The guitarist told Billboard that part of the reason for releasing the book was to counter "the bullshit that surrounds the band". He said the book is about being "as honest as possible".
He talks more about drugs and drinking than the music itself, rationalising that "the music was sort of a natural thing you don't have to talk about, but chemical abuse was sort of every living, breathing moment."
Whilst confirming that he would never rejoin Guns N' Roses, Slash remains optimistic that the perennially delayed 'Chinese Democracy' album will one day be released.
'Slash' is published on October 30. Velvet Revolver are touring in Japan and Australia at the end of the year.
