Janet Jackson gets to work on her Def Jam debut, a weight-loss memoir and a new film.
The nipple-shielded one spoke to Associated Press about her busy life. In July she signed a contract with Island Def Jam and has been working on a new album to be released in 2008, in conjunction with R&B producing magnate LA Reid. While she isn't working with her long-time producing pals Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis as of yet, she remains optimistic. "If we're really going to work together on this album, I don't know," she said. "Hopefully we can and we'll get together and be able to do at least a couple of things together."
Jackson is also appearing in her first film for seven years. She plays a lovelorn psychologist in Tyler Perry's romantic dramedy 'Why Did I Get Married?', released last weekend in the US. Add to that a new memoir about her constant weight battles and she's a very busy girl indeed. Apparently too busy to talk to her brother, as she declined to discuss Michael with Associated Press.
