Look out for some big tour announcements soon. We expect the Red Hot Chili Pepper dates to be imminent, Eric Clapton will tour Australia for the first time since the mid 80s in January and the Killers are mooted for the Big Day Out.
As well as the already announced U2, Kylie and Robbie Williams dates, Christina Aguilera will be heading to Australia around April, an Australian version of UK's V Festival is about to be announced by Sir Richard Branson and plans are underway for a Make Poverty History concert in Melbourne around the time of the G20 summit. U2 are expected to perform at the show.Classic rockers The Who recently announced they would return to Australia as part of their world tour. Elton John is also planning a tour down under.
Promoters are currently trying to work around a suitable venue for Melbourne in early 2007. The most popular venue, Rod Laver Arena, is throwing the entire country out of whack as it will be out of action for most of February through April because of the 2007 World Swimming Championships.
