Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have captured the top of the US chart once again with the new album 'Magic'.
'Magic' squeezed out Rascal Flatts for number one and lodged across America with sales of around 330,000 units.'Magic' is the first E Street Band album since 'Rising' in 2002.
Guitarist Nils Lofgren told Undercover that the album started out as another solo album for Bruce, and that the E Street band was added late into the project. "Bruce and Brendan (O'Brien, producer) had been chipping away at it for a while and we would all go down to Atlanta and put on some parts for Brendan and Bruce to throw in the soup. They would decide what to use and where. I am not exactly sure when they began the project, but as a writer Bruce may have been chipping away at this bunch of songs for a while".
Other albums to debut in the US this week include Matchbox Twenty 'Exile On Mainstream' at number 3, Soulja Boy Tell 'Em 'souljaboytellem.com' at 4 and J. Holiday 'Back Of My Lac' at 5.
Annie Lennox is expected to have a top 10 appearance with 'Songs of Mass Destruction'.
The Top 50 will include Trey Songz 'Trey Day', Faith Hill 'Hits', Brooks & Dunn 'Cowboy Town', John Fogerty 'Revival', Dashboard Confessional 'Shade of Poison Trees', Bob Dylan's 'Dylan' and Iron & Wine 'Shepherd's Dog'.
