Hanson guitarist Isaac Hanson was rushed to hospital after suffering a potentially fatal pulmonary embolism.
The trio were scheduled to perform a show in their hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma when the eldest brother began complaining of shoulder and chest pain. The gig was duly canceled.The band's publicist Ken Phillips said, "This could be serious, but nobody knows just yet. We are hoping for the best."
Hanson were in the midst of raising awareness for the plight of AIDS sufferers in Africa. Drummer Zac Hanson told a local television station, "I think when the heartland of America moves the world changes and I think unlike any place in the world there's something about the combination of affluence and personal freedoms and so many other things that gives us as Americans the ability to do things no one else can."
