Tom Petty's rockumentary 'Runnin' Down A Dream' will get a big screen viewing in the rock star's hometown of Gainesville, Florida.
The movie, directed by Peter Bogdanovich, is an unprecedented look at one of America's most reclusive rock stars.'Running Down A Dream', named after a Petty song, has been selected to close the 2007 New York Film Festival on October 14.
It tells the story of Petty's band The Heartbreakers, his solo years and his time with the supergroup Traveling Wilburys. Eddie Vedder, Stevie Nicks and Jeff Lynne are interviewed about Petty in the film.
The Gainesville screenings will take place on October 15 and 16.
Petty agreed to the film to mark the 30th anniversary of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.
Director Bogdanovich is known for his films 'The Last Picture Show', 'Paper Moon' and 'Mask'.
