A group of over 25 modern artists got together last Thursday night at the Bowery Ballroom in New York for Petty Fest 2010. The gathering saw a three-hour festival of some of Tom Petty's best music, both hits and album cuts, in celebration of the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's 60th birthday on October 20.
Unfortunately, Petty wasn't in attendance, but that didn't stop the musicians and crowd from thoroughly enjoying themselves. The house band was made up of Alex Levy (Cabin Down Below Band), Josh Lattanzi and Reno Bo on guitars, Austin Scaggs (editor or Rolling Stone) on bass, Matt Romano on drums and Dave Sherman on keyboards.
Featured artists included members of the Strokes, All-American Rejects, Fountains of Wayne, the Moldy Peaches and others along with Saturday Night Live cast members Will Forte and Jason Sudeikis and Norah Jones.
