Indie rock hero Stephen Malkmus is planning on releasing his fourth solo album on Matador in March.
According to an update on Malkmus' official website in April, the album was expected to be finished in June, but Matador will hold it until "early next year" because "the world needs preparation".If you can't wait that long, be sure to check out the soundtrack to 'I'm Not There', the Bob Dylan biopic, which features three tracks from Malkmus - 'Ballad Of A Thin Man' and 'Maggies Farm' with the Million Dollar Bashers and 'Can't Leave Her Behind' with Lee Ranaldo.
If you happen to be hanging around the American west coast in December, you can check out Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on December 19 and Doug Fir in Portland on December 21.
Support will be from Blitzen Trapper in Portland.
