Travis and Hot Chip are the latest high-profile acts to offer their music for free.
Travis will follow the lead set by Prince by giving away their single 'My Eyes' with the next issue of Britain's 'Mail On Sunday' newspaper. Prince infuriated UK music retailers in July after giving away copies of his entire 'Planet Earth' album with the same paper. It's the latest attempt by the Glaswegian indie act to resurrect their career, with sales of their latest album 'The Boy With No Name' paling in comparison to their breakthrough 'The Man Who' effort from 1999.
Meanwhile, Hot Chip have set up a free download of their track 'I Became A Volunteer', which is expected to appear on their new album. The follow-up to last year's 'The Warning' is slated for a February 2008 release. The track can be downloaded here, after you offer the band your email address.
