The White Stripes have cancelled their forthcoming, 18-date US tour due to illness.
A statement posted on the band's dot-com explained, "Meg White is suffering from acute anxiety and is unable to travel at this time."The band apologised to its fans, and said that ticket refunds would be available from the point of purchase.
