Jack White has told NME that he will not reform The Whites Stripes unless he "went bankrupt".
Likening a reformation of the White Stripes to a baselballer retiring and coming back to play the following season, Jack views a reformation as something sad and that when the The White Stripes broke up it was because " they were done". White went on to say "If we were forced to change our mind about that, I can only imagine the reason being if we went bankrupt or really needed the cash, which would be a really sad thing. I would probably be issuing an apology along with the announcement of the show dates."
Free of the White Stripes, Jack White has gone onto perform as a solo act and collaborate with a motely crew of performers from the notoriously disliked Insane Clown Posse to charming ex sex symbol Tom Jones.
Whites album Blunderbuss, will be released on his own label Third Man records on April 23. Prior to playing the U.K, White will tour the U.S.A and their have been rumours that he may show up in Australia sometime this year. However, there has been no official announcement or confirmation of said rumours. White apparently told JJJ's Zan Rowe in an as yet to be published interivew that he woud be touring Australia and in the words of Zan Rowe "for sure".
