Sydney indie success Ivy League turns ten this year and some of their finest come out to celebrate.
The forward-thinking label has been involved in some of Australia's biggest indie surprise success in the last decade, including the long-awaited commercial success of Youth Group and new hero Josh Pyke. Their associated management company have also helped push some of our finest acts out into the wide world, including The Vines, Jet and The Sleepy Jackson.Now their acts return the favour by performing two huge tenth anniversary shows in Sydney in November at the Metro Theatre. On Friday November 2, punters are blessed with a very rare headlining performance by The Vines, backed by Youth Group, The Silents, The Monarchs and Hoolahan. Saturday November 3 hosts Red Riders, Josh Pyke, 78 Saab, The City Lights and Peabody.
Ivy League will also release a compilation, dubbed 'Ten Years In The Trenches', which will be released on October 10. Among the labels favourites, it features a track by Ivy League supergroup The 1st Ivy Regiment Band, featuring Josh Pyke and members of Youth Group, 78 Saab, The Vines, Red Riders, and Neon.
