Slick dub punk quartet Modern Life offer a free download for World Happiness Day.
To correspond with the release of their new single 'Smile Today', out on August 5, the Sydney act have decided to cheer people up for World Happiness Day on August 8 by offering the song as a free download from their page http://www.myspace.com/modernlifemusic'Smile Today' is a peppy, trippy chunk of electro dub punk sounding like a cross between Madness and Franz Ferdinand. Modern Life feature the rhythm section of defunct dub pioneers Skunkhour with guitarist Matt Knight and the theatrical vocals of Charlie Smith.
The download will be available until midnight on August 8, but you'll still be able to hear four tracks on the page. Their four-track self-titled EP from November 2005 is also available on iTunes.
