Ignatius Jones of Jimmy and The Boys fame has been pretty much out of the spotlight ever since he had a handful of hits in the early 80s.
Last night, he bounced back in with a performance that will be hard to forget. After starting off dressed in caberat suit and jacket, Iggy, ripped off his coat to reveal an outfit Rocky Horror's Frankenfurter would have been proud of.Jones performed two of his biggest hits, the crooner song 'They Won't Let My Girlfriend Talk To Me' and then the camp-punk 'I'm Not Like Everybody Else'.
Despite a body which matches his near 50 years, Jones had no trouble flashing the leathers, chains and studs for the second half of his show.
Jimmy and the Boys played mainly around Sydney from 1975 to 1982.
'They Won't Let My Girlfriend Talk To Me' is a Tim Finn song, originally written for Split Enz. It didn't work for the Enz, and was adopted by Iggy.
After the break-up of the band, he got into acting and had dual roles in as Eddie and Dr. Scott in the Australian production of The Rocky Horror Show.
While it is not widely known, one of his greatest productions was seen by 100's of millions of people worldwide. Jones was a co-director and writer of the 2000 Sydney Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
His sister is former Play School presenter Monica Trapaga.
