Homebake announces their 2007 line-up with the sad news that the event is no longer all ages.
Sydney institution Homebake has had to limit what has long been an all ages extravaganza due to the state's "strict licensing regulations."The over-18s, however, will be treated to a fine blend of Australia's best news acts and some living legends of the scene. The theme this year is "It's The Ladies Domain" and to celebrate it, Homebake will give you the biggest female-fronted band: Divinyls, fresh off being inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.
Also this first announcement includes multi-Platinum girl-next-door Missy Higgins and pixyish chanteuse Sarah Blasko. There high oestrogen content continues with electro freaks The Bumblebeez, powder-puff punk kids Operator Please, and half of pastoral folkies Angus & Julia Stone. Just don't be fooled by the all-male roots rock crew The Beautiful Girls.
There's also Gotye, Cut Copy, Josh Pyke, Midnight Juggernauts, Pauls Kelly and Dempsey, PNAU, Behind Crimson Eyes, Muscles, Ed Keupper, Soft Tigers, Mammal and New Zealanders Red Eye Society.
And this is just the first announcement for the huge festival at The Domain on December 8. Tickets go on sale Monday August 8.
