60's popstar Lynne Randell was given the send-off she wanted by friends, family and fans at a celebration of her life on Melbourne's St Kilda Beach on Saturday.
Around 400 people, including many music stars, turned up to say goodbye to Lynne, who died in June.Amongst the familiar faces were Ian 'Molly', Brian Cadd and Russell Morris.
Good friend and organizer of the send-off, Serge Thomann told Undercover News "Lynne always filled a room and for the celebration of her life she filled the sky".
He meant that quiet literally. Following the ceremony on Port Phillip Bay, the skies were filled with fireworks to the sound of Gregory Lemarchal's version of 'Time To Say Goodbye'.
"I chose Gregory's version of the Bocelli song because he died of cystic fibrosis just one month before Lynne", Serge said. Lemarchal was the 24 year old singer who won the French version of Idol just two years ago.
Lynne's ashes were scattered at sunset on Saturday night, along with those of her father who died three years earlier to the day.
Between the scattering of the ashes and the fireworks, three of Lynne's songs belted out across the P.A.. They played her top 40 hit "Ciao Baby" and the songs 'Going Out of My Head' and the more upbear 'Stranger In My Arms'.
