U2's 1997 Popmart tour was the stuff of legend. It contained the largest single screen ever built and was quite simply staggering in every possible way.
This gig, which stuck in the minds of everyone who saw it, has never before been available on DVD, until now.The concert, which was filmed at Mexico City's Plaza Del Toro in December, 1997 has been remixed and remastered and will now be in 5.1 surround sound.
The DVD will be released in two formats, one standard single disc version and a double disc version that will feature previously unreleased live audio and video material, including documentaries, a PopMart tour visuals montage, and DVD-ROM extras.
Both the 'Elevation' and 'Vertigo' tours have been released on DVD, although both of these concerts are significantly scaled back from this one. Their other uber-mega scale tour, ZooTV was also recently released on DVD, as well as the movie 'Rattle and Hum'.
The DVD was originally going to be available in June, but has been pushed back to September 8.
