Triple J Unearthed winners Young And Restless have a busy couple of months ahead of them, as they prepare to release their debut full-length and travel the country.
The five-piece, originally from Canberra and now relocated to Melbourne, are gaining a reputation for being one of the most energetic and chaotic acts in the country. Their self-titled debut, to be released July 14, is testament to this, a persistent barrage of manic Refused-esque guitars, and ferocious shrieks courtesy of frontwoman Karina Utomo.Having already supported the likes of Erase Errata, Cansei De Ser Sexy and Love Is All, they hit the road in August and September with Midnight Juggernauts and Damn Arms - but not before a run of headline shows in support of the album release.
After a sweaty warm-up show in Perth last Saturday, Young and Restless support Magic Dirt at Melbourne's Corner Hotel on Friday June 6, before three album launch shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Their tour with Midnight Juggernauts and Damn Arms kicks off on Friday August 10 in Hobart, and winds up in Adelaide on September 8. The album is released nationwide through Dot Dash records.
