Korn fan Andy Richardson was critically injured during a fight in a Korn moshpit in Atlanta on July 30.
The Washington Times reports that Richardson, 30, was in the mosh pit with his heavily pregnant girlfriend and mentally challenged child when he asked two fellow concert-goers to refrain from jostling his companions. According to friend Edgar Arellano, Richardson was punched in the head and dropped head first into the concrete floor, telling Atlanta's WSB-TV, "He was unconscious. He had blood all over his face when I picked him up."Richardson was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital but never regained consciousness. He was declared brain-dead on Tuesday August 1 but was kept on life support as he was an organ donor.
His mother Gloria said to WSB-TV, "Can you imagine your child goes to a concert and be killed for it, because of people out there fighting to have a quote unquote good time? And I'm angry. I'm very angry. Why were the police not there to stop them?" Atlanta police are reported to have only a vague description of the attackers.
Korn, who continue on their Family Values tour, are yet to comment on the incident.
