Way to go Traveling Wilburys. After more than a decade out of store, the reissue of the classic supergroup album has given Powderfinger the finger and debuted at number one.
The Traveling Wilburys sold 20610 units across Australia last week, pushing Powderfinger's 'Dream Days At The Hotel Existence' to number two with its 19433 units sold.Traveling Wilburys featured George Harrison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne and Roy Orbison.
Roy died on December 6, 1988 at the age of 52 before the second single 'End of the Line' was released. In the video, he is represented with a rocking chair with his guitar.
The funny thing about the Wilburys was that their 2 albums were called Volume 1 and Volume 3. There was never a Volume 2.
Also between albums, they had different names.
On Volume 1 there was:
Nelson Wilbury - George Harrison
Otis Wilbury - Jeff Lynne
Lefty Wilbury - Roy Orbison
Charlie T. Wilbury Jr. - Tom Petty
Lucky Wilbury - Bob Dylan
The Traveling Wilburys of Volume 3 were:
Spike Wilbury - George Harrison
Clayton Wilbury - Jeff Lynne
Muddy Wilbury - Tom Petty
Boo Wilbury - Bob Dylan
In the videos, the drummer you see is Jim Keltner who was not listed as a Wilbury.
On the new reissue, overdubs are credited to Ayrton Wilbury, who is George's song Dhani.
