Melbourne roots rock travellers Blue King Brown bring their music to the Earth.
The group, which incorporates funk, soul, roots rock, reggae and modern beats, have got lucky. But as the old adage goes, the harder you work, the luckier you get. After releasing their debut album 'Stand Up', Blue King Brown polished off six months worth of shows around the nation. Then, in early June, the clip for their single 'Water' was featured on YouTube's front page, amassing international interest. They have been offered international record deals, gigs and spots in advertising. This, of course, was after their successful jaunt to Japan where they have sold 16,000 albums. They return to Japan later in 2007 to perform at their August Summersonic festival alongside acts like Black Eyed Peas, Avril Lavigne, Gwen Stefani, The Offspring and Arctic Monkeys. Blue King Brown also plan their first tours to Canada, the US and Brazil.
In addition to rocking the earth, they'll rock for the earth at Sydney's One Earth concert on June 15, Bendigo's Make Poverty History show on July 3 and Sydney's Live Earth concert on July 7. They play Jindabyne on August 1 and Wollongong on August 2 before their Splendour In The Grass slot on August 4.
