The NRL will pay tribute to Australia's leading legend of country music Slim Dusty before the 2nd State of Origin match on Wednesday, June 13.
The tribute is both to celebrate the life of Dusty, but also to celebrate 50 years since Australia's first ever musical export's classic tune 'The Pub With No Beer' was released. It also marks the 80th anniversary of Slim's career.
Recent Golden Guitar winner Adam Harvey will perform the classic tune, followed by up and coming star Amos Morris, who will do Charleville - a song Slim wrote with Cold Chisel keyboardist Don Walker - and David and Anne Kirkpatrick will perform their dad's other classic, 'Duncan'.
The occasion will also be used to promote the Slim Dusty foundation, which has commemorated the life of Slim Dusty, and is currently in the process of building a Slim Dusty museum in his birthplace of Kempsey, NSW.
