Paris Hilton has issued a statement thanking US authorities who looked after her during her three days of captivity, as she should. It should not have happened.
In the statement, she says "I want to thank the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and staff of the Century Regional Detention Center for treating me fairly and professionally. I am going to serve the remaining 40 days of my sentence. I have learned a great deal from this ordeal and hope that others have learned from my mistakes."Paris was released from jail on Thursday because of a "medical condition". The condition is reported to have been psychological, not physical.
This has raised questions about the sheriff's department for putting the heiress above the law and releasing her just days into serving a sentence. The judge who sentenced Hilton, Judge Sauer, was not notified of the decision.
Paris will serve out her sentence in complete luxury and with servants at home for the next 40 days.
The spoilt little rich kid has been issued a bracelet which will limit her to remain within 4000 feet of her house.
