Welsh trio Manic Street Preachers paid an emotional tribute at London's Astoria venue to their former guitarist Richey Edwards, who went missing in 1995.
The band's last gig with Edwards took place at the Astoria in 1994. He disappeared in February 1995, and the case remains unsolved.Since then, the band have left a space on the stage where Edwards would have been standing. At the Astoria, vocalist James Dean Bradfield moved into Edwards' spot during the band's rousing anthem 'A Design For Life'.
Bassist Nicky Wire dedicated 'Faster' to "the genius of Mr Richard Edwards". He also commented after performing 'Die In The Summertime', "Can you remember us doing that in '94? I can't remember us being able to play it that good then".
