The Arctic Monkeys, already confirmed for Byron Bay's now sold out Splendor in the Grass, have today announced shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
The band were last in Australia in 2006, when they toured their overhyped debut album, 'Whatever You Say I Am, That's What I'm Not' and wowed a skeptical media with an energetic and exciting live show.Returning to promote their 2nd album 'Your Favourite Worst Nightmare', they have a lot to prove and a lot to live up to, but they should have no problems with that.
The press release informs us journo types that "The Arctic Monkeys are the band poised to redefine music this decade." While that might be pushing the definition of "redefine" a little too far, the band can promise a show you won't soon forget.
You can check them out at:
Friday 3 August Hordern Pavilion, Sydney - all ages
Saturday 4 August The Tivoli, Brisbane - 18+
Tuesday 7 August Festival Hall, Melbourne - all ages (licensed and unlicensed areas)
