Former Superjesus-cum-solo artist Sarah McLeod has been fined $1100 and had her license suspended for eight months after pleading guilty to "mid-range drink driving".
McLeod was followed home by police, who were alerted after she failed to drive when a traffic light turned green. She blew 0.125, which is more than double the Australian legal limit of 0.05.
Her sentence was handed down at Balmain Local Court yesterday by magistrate Ross Clugston.
Her lawyer, Michael Vaughan, described her as "an entertainer who had a prominent career as a role model for young girls." Nobody is sure if the lawyer was trying to get her a lighter or heavier sentence with that line.
