Thailand musician, promoter and entrepreneur Prart Aroonrungsi, yesterday showcased talent from Thailand for Overdrive 2007 at Mahisorn Auditorium at Bangkok's SCB Park.
The all-day event started at midday with Crescendo and was followed by the triple play drum powerhouse featuring Ekkamand Photipanthong, Ood Yannawa and Itthichai 'Loh' Buakaew who performed as Drum Circles.Five Play, a jazz ensemble featuring Koh Mr Saxman on saxophone, Jakrawal 'Nueng' Saothongyutitham on piano, Duck Suthipong on drums and Prart on guitar followed with Prart continuing to perform with Pop The Sun, Olarn Phromjai and Kob Overdrive banding for the Overdrive Concert Workshop.
The show's finale was Olarn with the All Planet Jam.
Prart is the owner of the Prart Music Group and publisher of the magazine Overdrive.
The Prart Music Group records Thailand's finest musicians and also releases the educational VCD 'Basic Series', a volume of discs instructing on various instruments.
The discs include the '10 Day Music Theory' which covers time and key signatures and '7 Days Around The Note', a collection for beginners.
Prart came up with the idea to produce the video series to make available music education for remote areas outside of Bangkok.
A second volume is planned for later this year.
Prart is also one of Bangkok's biggest tour promoters. In the last week, metal band Dragonforce came to town. Prart gave fans who attended the concert free admission to his Overdrive 2007 show.
