Paul Simon was joined by Art Garfunkel as well as his South African 'Graceland' choir during a tribute concert in Washington.
Introducing Garfunkel as "My dear friend and partner in arguments", they performed 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and 'Cecilia'. The two last performed together in 2003 and 2004, after two decades apart. The concert took place at Washington's Warner Theatre, with Ladysmith Black Mambazo - the Zulu choir who appeared on the 'Graceland' album - joining Simon for the first time since 1999. They performed 'Diamonds On The Souls Of Her Shoes'.
The concert was sponsored by the US Library of Congress, who presented Simon with the inaugural Gershwin Award, which recognises his contribution toward popular song as an artform.
