The white shirt worn by the cigarette-toting feller on the cover of Arctic Monkeys' debut CD is being auctioned for charity.
Chris McClure - who is now a member of the same cover star club as the fat kid from Fat Boy Slim's 'You've Come A Long Way, Baby' cover - wore a plain white Primark shirt on the cover of the Monkeys' 'Whatever People Say That I Am, That's What I'm Not' debut. He's selling the signed and framed shirt in aid of the Paul Hunter Foundation, named for a 27-year-old snooker star who died a year ago from cancer. The Foundation helps underprivileged and disabled children by providing them with snooker lessons.
The auction is currently on eBay. The item description reads in part, "The photo's (sic) for the cover were taken in November 2005 by design agency Juno Studios in Liverpool, prior to the release of the album in January.
"When the cover shoot was originally taken, it was decided that Chris didn't look drunk enough for the cover, so a week later him and a close friend and his cousin were given £80 to get the 'right look' for the shoot."
The current bid sits at £480, for which you will also receive a signed vinyl copy of the album.
