Canadian crooner Michael Buble has kept LA rockers Linkin Park from debuting at number one in Australia (albeit with some controversy).
Buble scored an impressive 30,634 sales in the past 7 days with Linkin Park close behind on 28,242 sales. However, Linkin Park's number two fate was caused by some stores that put the title on sale a day early, too early to be included in last weeks chart.According to label insiders, the Linkin Park album would have been number one based on the amount of units sold early.
It's still a big win for Michael Buble though. He is the first act this year to sell 30,000 plus units two weeks in a row. He also holds the record for first week sales, after shifting more than 37,000 units out of store last week.
Missy Higgins continued her dominance in sales after shifting 19,064 units for her 'On A Clear Night' album in its third week.
Gretchen Wilson had a disappointing debut, coming in at only Number 91 with her 'One Of The Boys' album selling just 545 units.
The perennial Jeff Buckley's 'Grace' returned to the Australian Top 100 at number 100 with sales of 489 units.
On the singles chart, Avril Lavigne's 'Girlfriend' topped the chart with sales of 5,138 physical singles and 8,835 CD and downloads combined.
Physical CD sales continued to wane with Junior Senior at 100 selling just 42 CD singles nationally. The combined CD and download chart featured Pussycat Dolls at number 100 with 148 units sold.
