George Michael has admitted he was drug-affected when found slumped at the wheel of his car in October last year.
In January, his lawyer indicated that he would plead not guilty to the charge of driving under the influence of drugs, despite him being cautioned at the time for being in possession of cannabis.Whilst not revealing which drugs he had taken, Michael told the court the incident was a result of mixing tiredness with prescription medication.
"I did something very stupid," he told the court. "I am perfectly aware that I did something very wrong and got into my car when I was unfit to drive.
"I was not in my normal physical state and I am perfectly prepared to accept the correct punishment for that and I would have accepted it a long time ago."
Michael faces another court hearing on May 30. He faces a maximum six-month jail term and a fine of up to £5,000, or almost $US10,000.
