The Saints, yes, the original Saints, the lineup with Ed Kuepper and Ivor Hay, are getting back together for a one off gig at Brisbane's Queensland Music Festival on July 14.
The band play on the 'Pig City' night, named after the book of the same name telling the tale of the thriving music scene in Brisbane during the oppressive Belke-Peterson government in the 70s and 80s.The band, who in the mid 70s were blasted across English airwaves with tunes like 'I'm Stranded' and 'Know Your Product' that together with The Sex Pistols and The Ramones changed the fact of rock 'n' roll and defined punk rock.
The original lineup disbanded in 1978 when Ed Kuepper left the band, followed by all other members except Chris Bailey. Bailey has used the name The Saints ever since.
This will only be the 2nd time the original lineup has played together since 1978.
They reformed in 2001 to be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.
Tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster on Saturday the 19th of May. They'll cost $60 + b/f.
