By the end of the northern summer, The White Stripes will have played in every state, province and territory in the United States and Canada.
Jack and Meg have made it their mission to play shows in the 16 American states they've yet to have performed in. This will follow a full scale tour of their northern neighbour in support of their new album, 'Icky Thump'.In a message posted on their official website, Jack explained, "Having never done a full tour of Canada, Meg and I thought it was high time to go whole hog. We want to take this tour to the far reaches of the Canadian landscape. From the ocean to the permafrost. The best way for us to do that is ensure that we perform in every province and territory in the country, from the Yukon to Prince Edward Island. Another special moment of this tour is the show which will occur in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on July 14th, The White Stripes' Tenth Anniversary."
Whilst dates are yet to be confirmed for the American shows, they will also include "a limited number of performances in other markets, including New York City and Boston."
'Icky Thump', the band's sixth studio album, is released June 18 in the UK and Europe and June 19 in the rest of the world.
