The family of Christopher Wallace, aka Notorious B.I.G., has sued the city of Los Angeles for the second time.
Billboard reports that the family have followed up their 2005 wrongful death suit, which ended in a mistrial, with another levelling accusations that two LAPD officers conspired to kill the rapper while also working for Suge Knight's Death Row Records. The suit names Rafael Perez (now known as Ray Lopez) and ex-partner Nino Durden as police agents who conspired to kill Biggie, as well as the Los Angeles Police Department who they contend covered up the two officers' involvement.
The initial suit from 2005, lodged by members of Biggie's family, was declared a mistrial when the judge was concerned that the LAPD were withholding evidence. The judge has previously ordered the city of Los Angeles to pay $1.1 million in legal fees and expenses to the family.
While we may never know who killed Biggie (and there seems to be a thriving cottage industry in conspiracy theories), his death hasn't slowed his career. In March this year, almost exactly ten years after his death, a Greatest Hits album topped the US charts.
