Ex-Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and bassist Mark Hoppus have announced the debut for their new project Plus 44.
After Blink 182 dissolved in February last year, Barker and Hoppus started planning what was widely rumoured to be an electro project, alternately named Plus-44, (+44), Plus Forty Four and other variations (the name being the UK's International Dialling Code). They have finally spoken about the band to MTV.Hoppus quashed the electro rumours somewhat, saying, "There's all kinds of stuff going on. Guitars mixed with keyboards, and electronic drums mixed with live drums. It's based on guitars and rhythms, and both Shane and Craig are great guitar players." Shane Gallagher and Craig Fairbaugh are the other half of the band, ex-The Nervous Return and Transplants respectively.
Ex-Blink bandmate Tom DeLonge has already found success with his ambitious new melodic rock act Angels & Airwaves, with Plus-44 releasing a web-only song on the same day as Angels & Airwaves' released their 'We Don't Need To Whisper' album. Listeners will have to wait until October to hear the whole Plus-44 album, which is tentatively titled 'Little Death'.
