60s pre-punk group The Monks may have caused a stir in a still divided Germany, but that didn't stop them helping to inspire a generation of punk rockers in the following years.
Artists lining up to pay tribute to the band include Alec Empire (former Atari Teenage Riot), The Fall, The Gossip, The 5,6,7,8s and even an appearance by original Monk Gary Burger with Faust.The album has been around in some territories for a few months, but will hit the USA on June 19.
