After being away from the Australian stage for two years, garage rock champs Rocket Science return.
The band are back in the studio after an almost three year hiatus from recording and two years since they have played live. The band are recording in the same space where they laid down their 2000 debut 'Welcome Aboard The 3C10', except this time they have fully inhabited the studio with guitarist Paul Maybury at the producing helm. They've stated on a myspace blog "we reinstalled a lot of the gear ourselves and have been experimenting with different techniques and equipment and have been getting some of the best sounds we've ever managed since being together." They're also recording the new album to tape, rare in this digital age and perfect for their grainy retro sound. The band should be up to mixing by now, and hope for a September release.
Rocket Science also return to the stage, playing the monster Cherry Rocks '007 at Melbourne's infamous Cherry Bar on May 6 alongside Dallas Crane, Blood Duster, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, My Disco, and heaps more. Sydney will have to wait far longer, with a show planned for the Annandale on June 29.
