Australian production company Robot Academy document the '90s punk rock scene in 'One Nine Nine Four'.
Sydney punk rock scenester and co-owner of Below Par Records Jai Al-Attas has been planning the film for over two years. The 22-year old was motivated to cover the resurgent era in punk, primarily because "no one else f**king has," according to the Robot Academy myspace. Teaming up with producer Matt Wardle, Al-Attas travelled to LA to record over 30 hours worth of interviews with the titans of the scene, as well as snaring archival footage from the time. The documentary will feature interviews with Fat Mike of pioneering outfit NOFX and stalwart label Fat Wreck Chords, Tim Armstrong, Lars Frederickson and Matt Freeman of Rancid, Mark Hoppus and Tom Delonge of Blink 182, Epitaph head Brett Gurewitz and Greg Graffin of Bad Religion, as well as members of Lagwagon, Pennywise, No Use For A Name, Unwritten Law, The Offspring, The Vandals, Goldfinger and booking agents, producers and managers.
It will be narrated by pro-skating legend Tony Hawk.
Al-Attas says 'One Nine Nine Four' is already three quarters finished but no release date has been announced.
