After the enormous success of his 'Great American Songbook' series, Rod Stewart attempts more rockin' classics on his new album.
The gravel-voiced legend has been better known as a crooner of late, releasing four albums of smooth standards over the last four years. Each edition of his 'Great American Songbook' has gone double platinum in the US, selling over 8 million copies across the series. Now Stewart has announced his next album, and judging by the title he has reverted to his earlier style of working-class rock on 'Still the Same ... Great Rock Classics of Our Time'. The album will be released October 10 on J Records and will feature Stewart's renditions of, well, the great rock classics of our time.
Billboard reports that Stewart has a crack at John Fogerty's 'Have You Ever Seen the Rain', Elvin Bishop's 'Fooled Around and Fell in Love' and Bob Dylan's 'If Not for You' alongside songs by Bob Seger, Bonnie Tyler and Van Morrison.
