Classic rocker Todd Rundgren will be the first act to play the newly refurbished Fillmore in Philadelphia when the venue reopens on April 27th.
The venue has undergone significant restoration over the last year. The walls have been repainted a deep red hue, there are new hardwood floors and three giant chandeliers put in place within the venue.Rundgren, a native of Pennsylvania, has been chosen to open the new venue to mark a tradition set by Fillmore founder, the late Bill Graham, who always used local talent in his original Fillmore venue in San Francisco.
Over the coming months, the venue will also host gigs by Chris Cornell, Amy Winehouse and Peter Bjorn & John.
