Apple's iTunes this week introduced Complete My Tracks, a new concept for music buyers to upgrade from one song to a complete album.
Under the plan, music buyers who purchase single tracks through iTunes have 180 days from the purchase date to update from the single song to a complete album and be refunded the price of the original download."Complete My Album is a wonderful new way that iTunes helps customers grow and enjoy their music collections," says VP of iTunes Eddy Cue.
Under the scheme, a person who has downloaded a song for $0.99 and then decides to buy an album at $9.99 within 180 days will pay $9.00 for the album. If you have purchased three tracks at $0.99 and decide to buy the album within 180 days, you would pay $7.02.
The concept allows fans to upgrade from a single to an album without having to purchase the same songs twice.
