Manchester indie rock gods Doves have completed eight tracks for their as-yet-untitled forthcoming album.
Dan Austin (Massive Attack, B52s) will be back working with the band after engineering their last record 'Some Cities' in 2005.The band said on their blog, "We've done eight tracks. We will be recording another eight tracks so we still have some way to go. Again thanks for all your words of encouragement, it means a lot to us.
"The studio is a little farmhouse barn in Cheshire, we did some mixing in RAK studios... John Leckie has since moved on due to previous commitments... Co-production-wise, we've hooked up with an amazing up and coming producer, Dan Austin."
You can expect to hear new stuff from the band next year before they enter the "touring bubble like world" that will include "as many places as possible".
