As first reported in Undercover back in January 2007, Eric Clapton will stage a second version of his Crossroads Festival on July 28 in Chicago.
Undercover first caught word of the event via a posting at guitarist John McLaughlin's website where he stated he would be playing the Festival in Chicago on that date. Two months later, Clapton has now confirmed the event.
The show will be held at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois.
This year's line-up will include John Mayer, Steve Winwood, Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Jeff Beck, Hubert Sumlin, Jimmie Vaughan, Albert Lee, Los Lobos, Robert Randolph and Buddy Guy.
"The Crossroads Festival is the realization of a dream for me, to gather a group of amazingly talented musicians to perform on one stage," Clapton said in a statement. "The Crossroads performers are all musicians I admire and respect."
Tickets go on sale this Saturday for $90.
Proceeds will once again go to Clapton's Crossroads Center in Antigua, a treatment and education facility founded by Clapton for chemically dependent persons.
