Following on from 2010's The Liberation of..., an album that garnered critical plaudits and multiple awards, including the prestigious Taite Music Prize, Ladi6 will release her highly anticipated third studio album later this year. Sydney and Melbourne heads will be some of the first in the world to hear the new sounds as Ladi 6 touches down with bandmates Parks and Julien Dyne this July for some one-off preview performances.
The as yet to be titled album was recorded between Studio A in Detroit, Michigan and Revolver Studios in Waiuku with the first single 'Ikarus' produced by Parks being described as a beautiful amalgamation of soul and futuristic hip-hop complemented by Ladi6's hypnotic vocals. Look out for a video for the next single ‘Shine On’ in time for the tour.
