Benjamin Skepper is in Melbourne and will present a world premiere of Piano + Electronics at Melbourne's premier Jazz Institution, Bennetts Lane.
In a world premier, Benjamin Skepper presents improvised and composed sound pieces for piano and electronics, cello and other sound objects.
Internationally acclaimed contemporary musician and composer, sound and installation artist, creative director and record label manager, Skepper was classically trained on piano from 2 years of age.
Skepper brings his passion for piano to a new level with his trademark improvisation and electronic looping and sampling technique. It will be his first public performance on piano for over 15 years.
Critically acclaimed performances across Europe, Japan and recent headline at MONA FOMA 2013, Skepper continues to entrance audiences with his genre-bending sound and unique performance art style.
In the intimate surrounds of Melbourne's premier Jazz venue, Bennetts Lane, meet the artist before he departs for Moscow to shoot a new music video due for release with his forthcoming 4th solo album later this year.
“Embodying classical aesthetic, music and culture, Benjamin Skepper is a musician with an extraordinary sense of the contemporary” (Rolling Stone Italy, 2011)
