It may be the start of winter but Pacha Sydney, presented by Heineken, has no plans to cool down this June with a jam-packed month set to send temperatures soaring. As well as headline sets by some of the best international and local DJ talent, Pacha Sydney will launch three exciting new rotating shows. ‘Insex’, ‘Dragonfire’ and ‘Myths’ will take you on a stunning ride into the imagination, with choreographed performances by some of Australia’s best dancers, awe-inspiring installations, burlesque, roving artists, crazy circus acts and mind-blowing displays by the Pacha cast including fire dancing, stilt-walking, contortion and more.
Melbourne Whiz Kid Will Sparks will kick off the month on Saturday 1 June. The 20-year-old is a fast rising star in the Australian and World Dance music scene. His remix of ‘Hello’ by Stafford Brothers feat. Lil Wayne & Christina Milan reached Number 1 on the electro-house Beatport charts earlier this year while his own single ‘Ah Yeah’ shot right up to Number 3.
On Saturday 8 June, after a smashing debut set in December, Pacha Sydney welcomes back Grammy-Award nominated, Australian dance superstar Tommy Trash. With his fist in the air and unmistakable locks at large, Tommy Trash boasts an armoury of his own carefully created anthems and a heartfelt approach to mind-blowing music. Having released on labels ranging from Axtone to Fool’s Gold, including two successive Number 1 hits on Beatport, every new installment of his poignant floor filling productions lays testament to the pride the Aussie takes in his blazing musical legacy.
Dutch DJ Alvaro headlines on Saturday 15 June. Arriving on the house scene four years ago, Alvaro has made waves across the globe for his contagious rhythms and energetic performances. His string of hits and thumping remixes have gained the attention of music heavyweights and led to collaborations with some of the biggest artists in the game including will.I.am, Tiesto, Far East Movement and Lil Jon.
The 2013 inthemix Awards Tour hits Pacha Sydney on 22 June. To celebrate the 11th annual inthemix Awards, Australia’s online guide to all things dance has put together a cracking lineup featuring three of Australia’s most exciting young acts. With pounding sets from SCNDL, Ember and Danny T, Pacha Sydney is ready and raring to put on a non-stop party night.
Australia’s party rocking DJ of choice, Goodwill returns to the Pacha decks on Saturday 29 June. The Aussie local has sold millions of mix CDs worldwide, earned numerous plays on Pete Tong’s infamous BBC Radio One Show and earned a solid reputation amongst dance music heavyweights with remix requests from the likes of Miike Snow, Fedde Le Grand, Janelle Monae and The Presets.
