Melbourne electronic duo Willow Beats have been wowing the Australian music scene with their dynamic beats and melodies ever since the release of their first EP in 2012. A year on and the uncle and niece duo have released their newest triumph, 'Alchemy' EP.
Title track 'Alchemy' and second single 'Elemental' have been making massive waves on Australian radio including constant play on triple j, with premieres on Home & Hosed and claiming Zan Rowe’s catch of the day. Music websites such as Indie Shuffle, Purple Sneakers, Tone Deaf, Music Feeds, Acid Stag and WhoTheHell have all reviewed the first two releases of the EP, giving it all round rave reviews.
As well as the first two singles, the EP boast three new tracks all playing on ethereal, mystical thematic elements. From glockenspiel arpeggios, dubby beats and RnB grooves the EP is a well-rounded musical journey into the minds of beat maker Narayana Johnson and vocalist Kalyani Ellis.
It has been a big 2013 for Willow Beats, and it is not slowing down anytime soon. At the end of May through the beginning of June, the duo are taking to the road on a national tour in support of the new EP, presented by Pilerats, New World Artists & Borris The Boy. After the 'Alchemy EP National Tour', Willow Beats are set to support Gold Fields with Phebe Starr at the end of June through July.
