Simon Wright’s new single, ‘Music’ off the EP ‘Live at 52’ is a result of a winning sound that landed his band time in the studio during a battle of the bands competition at The Evelyn Hotel, Melbourne.
Simon Wright got his start in music ten years ago with his brother Andrew Wright in a band named The Wright Brothers. Like the original Wright Brothers who made planes that soared, the band began just as an idea and carved its niche on the North Coast, played to packed houses and extensively touring on the East Coast.
Simon Wright's current musical project shows the experience he has gained over the last years with the Wright Brothers and then with ‘The Eclective’. From May 2010 he has been exploring new directions and concentrating his time on writing. He’s now teamed up with bass player Nick Ohlson. Since the roots took hold in 2011, The Simon Wright Band have had a six month residency at The Evelyn Hotel, Fitzroy, a nine month residence at Veludo, St. Kilda, an placed first in the Casio/Whotune ‘Take the Stage’. It’ss clear that The Simon Wright Band is ready to take the stage.
