Ahead of their apperance at Bluesfest 2013, Fat Freddy's Drop uncover the video for 'Mother Mother'.
The gospel funk groove was captured live at the first of their 17 Winery Shows in New Zealand over the summer.
DJ Fitchie mixed the live recording on the road to create a six minute teaser. A studio version of 'Mother Mother' will feature on their forthcoming album Blackbird.
The video combines the live experience with footage of Freddy's and fellow Winery Tour bands Anika Boh & Hollie and The Adults going through their sound check ritual.
Fat Freddy's Drop first emerged from the underground club scene of Wellington in 1999, jamming along to instrumental mixes of funk, house and hip-hop records dropped by DJ Mu (aka Fitchie) at parties around the Capital. Thirteen years later and Freddy’s are still together, still doing things in their inimitable way and still getting better and better.
Fat Freddy's Drop Blackbird will be released in 2013 via Remote Control.
