US singer-songwriter Willy Mason will be returning in April supporting UK folk singer Ben Howard.
He’ll also be performing two headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne, plus a very special and intimate all-ages in-store performance at Brisbane’s Jet Black Cat Music on Friday 5 April.
Mason’s Melbourne headline date will take place on Sunday 7 April at The Toff in Town. The performance will be part of an upcoming season of shows presented by Communion Melbourne, in association with Communion Music UK. Willy Mason joins an outstanding season line up which includes singer/songwriters Thelma Plum, and Jordie Lane and electronic duo Deja.
Willy Mason’s upcoming tour follows the release of his third full-length album Carry On in late 2012. The album is lyrically rich with aspiration; cynicism, love and loss all set to sounds reminiscent of folk-era Bob Dylan and early Johnny Cash. Thematically Mason drew on during a transitional period and reuniting with his early home in Martha’s Vineyard, USA, whilst creating of the EP.
